During April, May and June of 2011, I have had the wonderful opportunity to assist in the planning and implementation of Richland County Public Library’s eReady initiative.

Working with the eReady project has provided many opportunities to engage both our staff and our community.  Please find examples below of methods used to engage our team and grow our customer base.

eReady Takeovers

I talked with over 500 customers about library eBooks and downloadable services where they happened to be…at lunch…at the following locations:

  • Cabo Fresh Taco
  • Greek Boys
  • Z-Pizza
  • Hunter-Gatherer
  • Cool Beans
  • McDonald’s
  • Takosushi
  • MVista
  • Panera (Garners Ferry)
  • Zoes (Main Street)

Gadget Galleries

Partnered with staff from at least 10 different departments and locations to implement a series of informal technology learning experiences.  Best Buy partnered with the library for our very first Gadget Gallery in April.  We were also assisted by Lexington County Public Library staff.  I was able to assist Lexington County with their Gadget Gallery as well.

  • Auditorium, main library
  • 1431
  • Teen Gadget Gallery
  • Cooper
  • Sandhills
